Austria has strict rules regarding the obtaining of new built properties by foreigners. All chalets in the Alpendorf Dachstein-West are subject to a rental obligation. On purchasing a property you are bound into a rental and management agreement with a nominated management organisation. From then on your property will be permanently looked after which is also useful for you if you have any questions or problems concerning your home. Because you are letting the property you can reclaim the VAT on the purchase price. There is a transfer rule with the tax office that you do not have to pay the VAT before financing.
