Alpendorf Dachstein West

Between the Salzburg Dolomite Mountains and less than 50 kilometres from Salzburg you come across the popular holiday area Lammertal-Dachstein-West, which invites you to experience all that Austria so uniquely offers: friendliness, politeness, magnificent nature and above all Gemütlichkeit! The ski region Dachstein-West is the biggest ski area in this part of Austria with at least 145 km of slopes, 35 lifts and altitudes ranging from 760 to 2000 metres. Because it stretches over a such huge area it is suitable for touring skiers whilst the lift companies cater for the needs of families with children. Children up to 6 years old are free! For cross country skiers this region is one of the most attractive areas of Austria and the region is also well-known by walkers. Annaberg has been voted the top walking area in Austria! Other places in the area are Gosau and Russbach. Standing at the edge of the reservoir at Gosau you have a breathtaking view onto the Dachstein glacier. Russbach is the closest village to the ski area: from here you take a cabin lift which can transport 1500 people an hour to the top of the Hornspitz.

 

The chalet park is a unique starting point for outings. Within an hour you are in the centre of the beautiful city of Salzburg, on the edge of the picturesque Hallstätter See in the imperial Bad Ischl you can visit the "Eagle?s Nest" at Bad Reichenhall. You can also enjoy a day looking at the views and the glaciers from the Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse or take a boat trip on one of the lakes of Salzkammergut.

You can fly directly to Salzburg from Birmingham, Bournmouth, Bristol, Coventry, Dublin, Manchester and Southampton. Once in Salzburg the Alpendorp Village is only 45 minutes drive.
